This Glenfarclas Vintage 1998 belongs to the Family Casks series, a series in which whiskey matured in sherry casks and a cask strength bottling central. The maturation of this whiskey, distilled in 1998, takes place on 4th fill butt with a final run of 470 bottles. The smell of this whiskey is characterized by a very good balance between sherry, malt and influences of wood. Behind this are still hidden various complex layers. The flavor is an extension of this, while also appearing keys of nuts and spices. The finish is soft and full with hints of cocoa, spices and slightly bitter.
