The Glenrothes 18 years is a respectable age of whiskey belonging to the Soleo collection. The series is named after the Soleo process in which grapes are sun-dried, before they are compressed. This is a familiar concept in sherry production. The maturation takes place largely on first-fill (seasoned) sherry casks. Nose: orange, oily, vanilla and almonds. Taste: sweet, ginger, some floral, pear and vanilla. Finish: sweet, spicy and something spicy.
