Octomore 8.2 is the second part of this series. For the maturation used three different barrels, all of six years contained a third of the spirit. These are second fill barrels that formerly French (Mourvèdre and sauternes) and Austrian wine in it. The spirit was later transferred to a new Amarone barrel where the whiskey matured for two years more. Nose: peat smoke, red fruit, anise and sweets. After some time in the glass floral notes come into play, as well as tropical fruits. Taste: sweet and warming. Full keys of fruit to be supplemented by smoke. Adding some water creates salty influences and fresh citrus. Finish: smoky, peat, barley and cherries.
