Kurayoshu Sherry Pure Malt was created by blending a variety of Japanese and Scottish whiskeys, all entirely made from malted barley. The spirit is brought to the correct percentage of alcohol by the addition of water which is filtered by a pumice stone. It then takes a three-year aging period takes place before the whiskey is finished in sherry casks. Nose: lemon, oak, chocolate, honey, raisins and currants. Taste: malt, sherry, dried fruit, chocolate and vanilla. Aftertaste: medium with hints of lemon zest.
