Kilchoman, producing whiskey since 2005, was the first new distillery on Islay in 125 years. Like all other whiskeys from the Islay region, the whiskeys Kilchoman characterized by a smoky smell and taste. The Machir Bay, named after the bay near the distillery is matured in bourbon and sherry casks, giving the characteristic peat flavor is complemented by vanilla and (citrus) fruit. This subtle sweetness makes this whiskey is more accessible than some other Islay whiskeys. Kilchoman Machir Bay is wonderful to enjoy even after a long beach of. (Source: Harry de Vries)
