Isle of Jura Seven Wood is named for the amount of barrels that have been used in the production process. The whiskey matured first in first-fill American oak barrels, after which after-ripening occurs at six barrels of French oak. Nose: wood, roasted meat, allspice and in the background some sweet notes. Taste opens sweet, and spices and wood more are discussed. This is complemented by leather and bacon. Finish: Dry and spicy.
