Glenglassaugh 50 years is the oldest bottling batch belonging to three of the Rare Cask Editions, a series consisting of single whiskeys aged thirty or older. Distillation was started in 1965 and the content is bottled in 2016. Finally, there are 285 bottles filled. The maturation takes place entirely on a sherry hogshead. The scent is sweet and floral with a hint of oak here. With passage of time taking notes of grains and tropical fruits prevail. The taste is reminiscent of caramelized fruit, peach and fresh citrus. It is also to note a hint of oak as well as barley.
