Description

Bunnahabhain 1997 Cask Finish Palo Cortado has matured nineteen long years in the vicinity of the sea. After the aging period inititele traditional vessels that lasted seventeen years, is a two-year after-ripening on former Palo Cortado barrels used. The use of Palo Cortado vessels is quite special and gives a seductive twist contributes to this Bunnahabhain whiskey. Palo Cortado is an unknown, rather mysterious sherry type which contains similarities to both Amontillado as Oloroso sherry. Only a small portion of all the sherry the Palo Cortado. This is because biological sherry frequently (with a low 'flor' yeast) or oxidatively matures, but at Palo Cortado sherry, this is a combination of both. The aroma is refreshing and creamy: berries, walnuts and peca-, intense vanilla, oak and dried fruit. Silky and filling in the mouth with an abundance of dried fruit, complemented by oak, walnut and cocoa. The finish is slightly dry with a tinge of nutmeg.
