Bruichladdich 27 years in 1990 is distilled in a remote past and matures inititeel for a period of seventeen years in ex-bourbon casks. When Master Distiller Jim McEwan decided to transfer all the whiskey in carefully selected barrels of French oak, coming from Bordeaux. This second maturation period of ten years, creates additional complexity, structure and balance. The edition is limited to 12,000 bottles, all bottled at cask strength. Nose: red fruit, raisins, dates and apricots. With passage of time are citrus, nuts and honey forward. Taste: elegant, light but with a lot of depth. Sweets, tannins, coffee, almonds and apricots malt are harmoniously balanced. Afronk: chocolate, spices, oak and slight hints of fruit.
