Ardbeg Uigeadail is named after Loch Uigeadail, the lake in the grounds of the distillery Ardbeg which draws its water, a major factor in the distillation process. Ardbeg Uigeadail has no age indication for the expression consists of various malts of different ages. The malts used are partially matured in ex-bourbon, and partly on the ex-sherry vessels. Initially sweet in the mouth, as fruity cake and syrup, honey followed by a smoky barbecue flavor with a hint of fresh olives. The Ardbeg Uigeadail (pronounced "Ook-a-valley") means the Celtic thing as dark, dark place; truly a mysterious whiskey!
